Hello, I’m Jen, a dedicated nurse with nearly 20 years of experience across diverse roles in nursing, healthcare, and education. My background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BScN) and a Master’s in Education (MEd) focused on adult education and self-reflection. Over the years, I’ve learned the invaluable connection between the body and mind, and my personal journey led me to discover the Philosophy and Practice of Yoga as a powerful healing tool.
My journey into yoga started when I realized that this practice strengthened my body-mind connection. As a life-long learner, I completed Yoga Teacher Training in several modalities and continue to deepen my understanding, always seeking new insights—especially from those I work with.
Why the shift?
Balancing a corporate healthcare career, motherhood, and personal growth left me feeling disconnected from my body, mind, and spirit. By 32, I had gone through two pregnancies, surgical births, and surgical menopause due to endometriosis. The stress, identity loss, and burnout took a toll—I was giving to everyone but neglecting myself.
Through reflection, I realized the need to reconnect with my true self. Yoga became my path to healing, especially Yin Yoga, which allowed me to release tension and emotions and restore balance between body, mind, and spirit.
Since 2018, I’ve returned to my roots, blending my nursing background, yoga, education, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I’ve developed a Yin Yoga Therapy program to help others heal and grow, using the body-mind-spirit connection and talk therapy. It would be an honor to walk alongside you on your healing journey.
